I found a great deal on some Chomoplastic fenders and a leather saddle so I jumped on it. First new parts for the Batavus. I finished cleaning polishing and repacking the donor wheels. The originals were steel and these are a lighter alloy. I had to do some axle work to make them fit. I also went with a 14-32 freewheel that I had. I hope to be able to gear down on the chainring to get some lower gears. I now have a 42 small and hope to find a 38 or 36. I am not too concerned on the weight of this bike when done but lighter wheels and crank will help push it along.
